The Village issues several types of permits some of which are administered by the Administrative Services Department. (Some permits, such as the building permits, are issued by other departments.) The three types of permits issued by this department are as follows:
Weights & Measures License Applicaton
Salvage Dealer License Applicaton
Peddler's Permit Applicaton
Weights and measurers licenses are issued to all businesses that have measuring devices used in selling products. Examples of such businesses are gas stations (gas pumps measure gallons pumped) and stores using scales for weighing and selling products by weight. Stores that utilize scanners are also subject to this license.
Peddler's permits are needed for anyone desiring to sell products door-to-door. Background checks are made of persons requesting this license and the Village has the right to pull anyone's license for excessive complaints.
